Measure the surface area of the IHS on your CPU and go from there. With pots: -Use the best material you can for the base, reservoir does not really matter in terms of cooling. -Make sure the base has a large mass, is thick and has maximum surface area on the inside of the pot (tonnes of ways to maximize surface area, be creative) Good luck |

I have a good general idea of how to make it, but what I'm really looking for is how to secure it to the mobo. Slappa: Thanks! +rep as soon as I'm not trying to post from my phone.

Take a look at some of the other pots around, they all pretty much use the same mounting system. A plate with a hole in it that slides down the tube until it rests on a lip\ledge that runs the entire circumference of the pot. A standard backplate on back the mobo. Then you have bolts that hold the top plate to the backplate. Some have springs involved for a more balanced and even mount, and the materials can vary, but it's all pretty much the same.

Thanks guys for the great info. One more request if I may. Any pics of it mounted without the insulation just so I can get an idea of how this goes together? When I run a few of these, believe me, I won't forget about you guys. I need somebody much more experienced than I to critique how well they perform and keep the engineering sample. Again, thanks!
