Smile Is this chip worth it?

Hey guys, I have an E8400 that LOVEs to be overclocked, and I think she is golden. She boots up @ 4.8 GHz at around 1.53 Vcore, I didn't get a validation for that, but i got one for 4.6 GHz. It is somewhere here on the forum..

She POSTed @ 5GHz @ 1.57 VCore, but I didn't see if she went to windows - i was on air lol.

So, is it worth getting into LN2 and or Dry ice for this chip? Should i just watercool it for high 247 usage? Should i sell it.. The VID is 1.2 i think, but she just POSTs at almost ANY damn frequency and voltage.

So what you guys think?

edit;

i put this here because I have 'strong' feelings for LN2 and stuff, I'd like to get into that. I wanted your opinions to see if you think it is a good chip for LN2..

I just sold my E8400 for $105 shipped. A really good one might fetch $150, but only from a true enthusiast.

Dice and LN2 are extremely expensive and there's not much of a learning curve. If you mess up, you're either out a chip, motherboard, or both. I'm sure you've seen some of the stuff that Patch does. It's magical... But he's damn good.

If you have the resources, I'd say it'll probably be a fun venture. Otherwise, grab some nice WC stuff and work on the i7.

I want to use my E8400 just to try with dice, so i don't screw with my 920 on my first time.

I would only want to sell her to patch or some other LN2/Dice overclocker.. 150 is reasonable.

I will think about it.

Thanks for the kind words guys, but I'm just trying to learn myself. And I'm breaking a few things along the way.

I wouldn't start up DICE or LN2 for a specific CPU. I'd do it for fun in general.

And I wouldn't do it to hardware that you actually need or can't afford to lose.

DICE isn't all that expensive. You can get it from local grocery stores, bait shops, and welding supply stores for cheap. Prices for me depend on where I buy it and how much I get at a time. If I get 60+ lbs (fill my cooler) from a local welding supply it costs me about 50 cents/lb for pellets - and that's only because they are too lazy to actually weigh it. If I need to get it from a grocery store at 1 am, it's $1.09/lb for 5-10 lb blocks that I have to chip myself. PM Bartx or Duniek here for a price on a DICE pot, or they are occasionally on sale from OCN members.

LN2 itself, on the other hand, can be cheap or expensive depending on your location. It's the containers (dewars) to hold it that are pretty darn expensive. Even used on ebay.

The main expense is the hardware that you may ruin and the hardware you find yourself wanting to buy.

Anyway, BIOSTAR T-Power i45 is a great motherboard for overclocking in general right?

Did you see that phase thread with the guy reworking a AC unit? That would be nice on that chip.
