Well I was kind of excited to OC these 2 Celly, never OC'ed one before, I've mostly been a AMD clocker since slot A. I had to OC the E8*** chips though, there little OC monsters....Love them!

But anyway I stuck my 347 in to play with a bit and this mobo wont recognize it....I have the newest bios and all that. Kind of sucks since thats the one that I could of gotten some higher clocks on...Oh well..



So I stuck the 430 in and it works fine.It's just a max 12x so I'm not going to get any high CPU-Z's with it. This is the fastest one I found on the Bot for one...hwbot Celeron LGA775 430 info .That was with a cascade if I remember correctly.



This is a stock SPI with no tweaks...





Kind of hate to waste these Lanfest on it.


Not hardly worth proofing a mobo for, I have some decent ram though so maybe I can tweak on it and get a decent SPI out of it at least. It will still be fun......I have a E7200 I could throw on it to I guess. This will probably be my last s/775 run's, it's time to go to DDR3.

Hopefully I'll get this mobo proofed and do my runs next week sometime..

Hey so, what MB aside from the Commando and the P5B Deluxe or w/e is a good candidate for LN2/DICE? Lots of the ones I've been looking at don't support Cellys so I'm sorta leary on what to use. I know the Commando is a great board and probably the most potential but no one has it in stock and can't find any used.

It's great fun to play with these old tanks that have no cold bug.

You basically need a P965 chipset to run the Celly 347. They use a much lower fsb than the newer chips (24 multi on the 347 if I recall). I've seen someone run an older celly on an X48 board by overclocking it to 5 ghz with the lowest possible FSB setting in BIOS - but that won't work if the board can't even recognize it.

Commandos are hard to find, but you can pick up a P5B deluxe, P5B Premium, or a P5E board fairly cheap and easy on ebay. I'm sure there are some good non-ASUS P965 chipset boards, too.

Ira, if you hate that 347 and want to drop-kick it out of your garage I'll help you out. My 347 was a relative dud.

I think I'm going to set up a Phenom rig, I just hate they wont run a fast SPI since CPU-Z and SPI are all I really like to bench, but I can still compare it in it's own class. I'm really missing ram tweaking..

I was just going to forget DDR2 and move on to DDR3 but now I think I'll get a mobo for that 347 Celly. I just bought a Dfi NF4 mobo yesterday so I may as well chase DDR2 ram while I'm chasing DDR....
