Alright Guys... What Else Do I Need?
As soon as I get the resistor I need to finish the PCIe mod on my Gigabyte, my F@H rig is getting shipped to Protezione in Chicago to fund my upcoming pot from Bartx.
His pots come with insulation and mounting. So I'll need some TIM. I've heard Ceramique is the best for subzero runs. Is this true? I have a little bit of that, but I suppose I should get some more. I'll need some way to measure temperature. Can someone point me toward the most affordable way to do this? And uhhh... some clear nail polish. Is that all? What else... I'm super excited to finally get to do this! Anyone in the St. Louis area that has had experience with this kind of thing that would like to help me get started?

Kneaded eraser is supposed to be great for insulating & easy to work with, I'll have a pot coming soon & I think I already have enough eraser for several mobos.
You lost the resistor  . When I did mine I found a picture with the frame really tight to the glass, cleaned the crap out of it so I couldn't get the resistor mixed up with a grain of dust & put it on that while I took a minute to breath.I still dropped it out of the tweezers once & took me a couple minutes to see it. Good luck man.

Yeah, it was on a piece of paper right in the middle. When I picked it up with the tweasers I dropped it on the board itself. I literally spent two hours staring at the board trying to find it.
Surely someone has a dead board?

Searched around a bit, there is a reference to replacing the resistor in one of the posts in the original mod thread over at XS: http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...&postcount=257
You may be able to buy a 1 Kohm replacement.

That's what I'm planning on doing for now.
Doesn't the wire add resistance too?

Minimal resistance, shouldn't make a difference.
