i just got an "old" computer from my uncle :o
it started as an Acer...
AMD Phenom 9950 cpu
HD4850 GPU
80Gb Maxtor drive
some brandless psu
only this that i couldn't use was the RAM since that died...
but i want to change some settings in the bios, and that's locked :(
can i flash that with a different bios or something?
i want to lower the timings and up the speed of the RAM, and maybe lower the voltage of the cpu...
so...ca i flash the mobo with something else...or should i try and get some software to change these things?

However, whenever I set my RAM to 1066 I BSOD at random times. It works fine at 800 with 5-5-5-15 timing. Should I flash my BIOS in an attempt to rectify this? I have never done it before, and I'm rather worried I may lose my MOBO, but it would be nice to have 1066 timings.

I'm using Asusupdate for flashing my BIOS. I dont have a floppy drive so I cant do it the traditional way.

On Asusupdate, I see a couple of different BIOS versions, each specifying what it does or fixes.

So if I get the newest BIOS upgrade, does that include the older upgrades? Or do I have to install them each individually?
