How much better performance would I get using the GTZ over the GT on i7?
Is the GTZ good or are there blocks thats are much better?

Now that its summer in Aus I'm CPU is idling around 40-45C~ and loading at 65-70C~ (CPU @ 4GHz 1.33V~ Idle and Load)

So I'm considering going back to Air with a Megahalem + 2 Ultra Kazes. Or I can swap my Swiftech Rad 320 with a Feser 360, switch my Apogee GTZ to a Apogee XT, replace tubing, replace barbs to bitspowers, changing fans and replace my res with a EK cylinder 250. I just want to know if its worth the hassle...yes I love the look of it but just want to know if its worth it.

Thanks!

Will they work? And should I get another memory cooler for the back of the card if my Palit has double-sided chips?

I saw on this apogee drive review that you can change the motor and also they have the acrylic top to a 355.

I wanted to know if you can somehow use an acrylic top on this clu block so you can add the fatboy barbs. can it be done?

I plan on using a little MCR120-Res radiator, the apogee pump/block and maybe a chipset WB, all with 1/2" barbs.

If this is not possible, can you point me in the right direction to another similar block pump combo(not the H50....)?

Also, I currently have the version of a D5 non vario by corsair. I am only going through 1 220 swifty rad, 1 120 swifty rad, an enzotech cpu block and a ek gtx285 full cover block. If its getting close to time to replace pumps, can you recommend me something very quiet that will give me good flow with my setup? I was thinking of getting one of those xspc ones that go inside of the reservoir. Would this be advisable?

Thanks!

I don't have the case/computer yet, but when I have the money to build it (which should be soon), I'd like to get it water cooled too, to match the overall theme I'm going for.

Right now, what I do know is that I'll be cooling a CPU (i7 920), NB (of a Foxconn BloodRage, which conveniently comes with the water block), and a GPU (probably a HD5870). And what's nice about the BloodRage is that it has CPU mounting holes for both the 1366 and 775 sockets, expanding my possibilities for CPU blocks a bit. The goal of the water cooling would be mostly to make for some nice eye candy (:D) but also to overclock as much as safely possible, with pretty much the sole purpose of this computer being gaming.

But other than the fact that I definitely want to use at least a single 5.25" bay reservoir (probably by XSPC, unless somebody can point me to a better one, single or dual bay), I have absolutely no idea what parts I should go for. However, I want to keep everything inside the case, including radiator (which can be as much as triple-length without a problem). And I'll be using high RPM/CFM fans (Scythe Ultra Kaze), since noise isn't too big of a concern, which might make a difference in radiator choice.

Ideally, I'd like to do a dual-loop system, and I've seen a great case mod for the Corsair 800D to accommodate a second interior dual-radiator over on Hardforum...but I'm not sure if I can afford to have both a dual-loop system and high-quality parts.

But can I even attain proper cooling with a single-loop system, when cooling this much? Or would it just require really-high-quality parts? And would a Y-splitter (to have one "loop" just for the GPU and another "loop" for the CPU and NB) be better or worse than a simple single loop connecting everything in a line?

And I'd just like to mention, since from what I've read about water cooling so far it might be important - I'm planning to keep this computer for a LONG time; I simply won't have the money to even upgrade a single part for at least a couple years, and I'll probably have more important stuff to buy by then. So I guess I'm looking for the parts that will last me the longest...but at the same time, I'd like to keep it as cheap as possible while sacrificing the least performance (meaning if there's a radiator for $50 more that will achieve 0.1C better cooling, I'd rather just save the $50). There's no real budget, per se, but I don't want to unnecessarily spend money here.

But this seems like it would be interesting to post since i'll be porting almost everything over to my new custom Monotone tech station that i build.

Anyway to start it off, i like to first show the finish product of my tech station.

The station itself is pretty much built to incorporate a dual watercooling loop setup that holds 2x 3x120 size radiators on level 2.

I'll be using my classified setup most of the time.. and that's what i'll install on my bench :)
I will have a design cut into my side panel (taking up most of it) and backed with acrylic. Whether the acrylic itself will be textured or just edge lit I'm not sure. The tricky part is getting a moving water effect behind the design. Initially I considered bubbles panels, and I still sort of am, but they're messy. I've got the LEDs set, I just don't want to mess around with, say, a rotating disc of textured acrylic in front of the LEDs. I'd prefer real water. I know, I know, :kookoo:.

Is there any feasible way to have a functional reservoir internally mounted such that it can be lit and provide the background I'm looking for? Is it possible to create a reservoir that can do this? I'm open to almost any suggestion and, if it matters, I'm not going smaller than a full tower case. The design is central to my case mod concept and it's 100% related to water, so I'm going to do whatever crazy water effects I need to do to bring the concept to life.

now for the rads. i want to keep everything internal so my case can easilly accomodate a 2x120 and a single 120. the fans i have in mind are gelid fans.. can you guys reccomend me a good rad setup for these awesome fans? they are roughly 60cfm.
as for the rest, barbs, coolant. i dont know what works best with what i have chosen... can you guys pick at what i should get based on your experiences?
so far how does it look? i know my rad setup is flaky but let me know what i can improve on.

i would much rather have this over the H50 because i wanted to add my gpu to the loop

he didn't specify a price, he just pretty much said we'll talk. i know he'd take around $50 for it. is that too much? not enough?

alright so im in the process of building a rig with a p6t mobo i7-920 processor overclocked to 4.2 ghz sli gtx 260s overclocked by about 50% right now and stable, 12gb ram 850 watt power supply and a custom 3ft tall "modern art" tower made of steel and stainless steel. THUSLY i need a crazy watercooling system and im thinking a little over the top but overkill goes with the whole look of the case.

I plan on using 2 or 3 heater Oil coolers that are 12 inches long by 6 inches by 3 inches thick and have allocated this space in my case. in addition my resevoir is custom built out of 24" long copper pipe lengths with 180 degree U's at the end so it goes back and forth up and down 5 times in 3/4" copper pipe as to cool the water even further after it leaves the coolers. from there it will go thru my cpu and then each of the sli cards. ive measured out the volume of the entire system to something like 1 litter in the resevoir and another 2 litters in the tubing and coolers.

The issue now is the pump. I have chosen an ehiem 1260 pump which is rated at 635 GPH and 4 meters of head. will this flow water too fast thru my loop as ive heard if the flow rate is too great the water wont absorb enough heat... or are my 3 coolers and resevoir enough volume that the flow will be right? i know its hard to say exactly but i wanna see what you guys think

i was originally planning on using a block from HK but if need be i can make a block that is much more restrictive. I was thinking of machining a block that could house a 1.5" tall heatsink inside thinking the fins would first dissipate alot of heat and in addition restrict and slow flow.
