I've installed Riva v2.24 as an administrator but can't get it to work properly... during the install, Windows says it requires a digitally signed driver... the driver is downloaded and installed from Nvidia. I've tried updating with device manager, but it says that the driver is fine.

I guess, because of the lack of a signed driver, I get the message "no supported drivers detected for this display adapter"







I know that I don't have the best GPU, but I'd like to fiddle with some overclocking. Has anyone else had the same problems?

Question: Why does the GPU Fan RPM vary so much?

In Everest...it varies from 3098 RPM to 3498 RPM. Seems to me 100% would be 3498 +/- a few RPM.

so my mobo, CPU (and cpu cooler), ram, and PSU are stock from retail.

will i see problems if i want to overclock my GPU and CPU?

I am still unable to get the physx properties to run. When i i first installed the card, i installed the drivers off the cd. However i could not see my screen after the WinXP boot logo - just black. Went back to onboard video to see the screen. Installed the drivers DL'D from Nvidia. Using these drivers i can see my screen after the xp logo. But I could not access physx. Also i got a message asking whether i want to disable Nview. All this i did previously. Its like the cd drivers/software dont ever finish installing after cd install, Nvidia never appears in start menu. But after installing the dl'd drivers Nvidia appears in start menu.

Anyway i just now uninstalled the drivers and nvidia stuff and reinstalled the drivers off the cd. Same thing - black screen (of death???) after xp logo. Loaded the dl'd drivers and got rid of the black screen but still cannot get physx. Aslo same thing with start menu.

Anyone have any ideas as to how to get to physx?

I have an Asus 9800GT Ultimate which is factory overclocked @ 725/1750/1000. I have been overclocking with Rivatuner and FurMark for a while now and I have noticed something.

FurMark Scores:
830/2003/1000: 2016
830/2003/1100: 1938
830/2003/1150: 1936
830/2003/1160: 2032 *Very Unstable*

As you can see, a higher memory lowers the score, but with 1160 in memory it jumps back up.

What could be the explanation of this?

Would I get better performance in games with the clock speeds that give me higher scores or higher clocks?

Oh yea, my temps are fine: less than 65C OCed on load. The fans are at 100% and I didnt volt mod it.

1. Whenever I turn on my computer, which I always have it set to Hibernate, the fan settings would revert back to the default, 64%, which I lowered it to 35% because its loud as a jet. How do I stop it from going back to 64%? It's so annoying to have to go back to Rivatuner everytime I turn on my computer just to set it back to 35%.

2. How do I set the fixed aspect ratio for my CS? I play all my games at 800x600 and I don't want that stretched out picture.
