I have a lot of friends asking me why I use Firefox instead of Internet Explorer and the most common answer they get is : ''Because of the tabs''. I know a lot of you already can open tabs with your middle mouse boutton but I know a lot of people who don't, and whatever they do, when they click with the middle mouse button on an url, it doesn't open it in a tab.
__________________This FAQ is for people who don't know how to open urls with the middle mouse button on Firefox and for those who didn't know it was possible, because it is much faster to right click on mutliple urls and see them open in the same window than having them opening in seperate windows, so here we go: Microsoft Mouse: Open Microsoft Intellimouse Under the mouse tab, select wheel button Set wheel button to autoscroll Apply and exit Logitech Mouse: Open Logitech Setpoint Under ''My mouse'' tab, select the middle mouse button Select other and click on Select Fonction From the function menu, select Middle button Apply and exit *Make sure that you have added Firefox to the list programs first. On Linux (not sure if this works, but it seems like it) Type 'about:config' into the address bar Change the value for 'middlemouse.loadContentURL' to false. I hope this FAQ helped you. -XxXSpitfireXxX

I did it! now i get what you were saying. but for logitech, make sure that you have added Firefox to the programs first, then for the default use Ctrl+T as the keystroke assignment.

I'm currently using a logitech wireless mouse on my aunt's laptop while I'm waiting for my rig and I didn't need to add Firefox to the list of programs. I'll add it to the FAQ though.

I usually just hold Ctrl if I want a tab to open. Or right click open in background/new tab. Pressing the roller wheel is kind of weird IMO, so holding Ctrl is a better choice for me.
