Sorting out the wiring around the motherboard
There is another Wire Management FAQ on OCN. (link below) This is an addition focusing on hiding wires under the MB in the space between the motherboard and case. In the 1st picture the light blue area is where the motherboard covers. To start, look at the motherboard for where cables get plugged in. What are you going to use, where does it come from, and what are you going to add in the future? Take a little time to sort out the wiring a little and plan ahead. Clear tape can be used to hold down the cables while thinking it out. The tape also helps to hold the cables when you mount the motherboard. Be careful not to cross or bunch cables. Make sure the cable can actually fit. Use a ruler if you have to. Watch out on the cable for any, metal, protrusions, zipties, knots, and/or connectors. Also look for any worn or broken wires or insulation so you can avoid potential shorts. You can break the motherboard if the cables don't have enough clearance between the motherboard and case Think about the order they pop out from behind the MB. Round IDE and Floppy cables won't fit under the motherboard, but the flat IDE cables can be bent and folded to fit under the motherboard. On one build my SATA Hard drives are mounted on the bottom in a cage so all the SATA cables go there. I also ran a HDD power down to the bottom for later (fans etc.). As you can see in the 2nd picture, with careful planning you can get a lot of cables hidden under the MB. This is a good idea, however, it does have a few flaws. What happens if a cable touchs your motherboard? You could blow something up. I'd personally put a piece of electrical tape of the connector to prevent contact and I'd use electrical tape to attach it to the bottom of the case. Electrical tape is stronger than scotch tape, and easier to work with than packing or duct tape.

For sure watch out for any bare wire or metal or worn insulation. It can cause problems. As far as tape is concerned, I don't think it is critical. I use what is available and easiest to use. sladesurfer: That is very clean. looking good!
