Default How to: Share Media Between Your xBox 360 and PC

This may work, im not saying this will solve 100% of peoples connection problems...You can use this on wired or wireless networks

I have mine xBox and PC connect through 2 Homplugs, My broadband is connected into 1 of the 2 eithernet ports on my pc and the home plug the other.

If you were like me you may be having a few problems getting your PC and xBox 360 to work together allowing you to Share media between them, What i mean by this is that when you try to go to Media > Music or Pictures you are just shown the Test Connection Screen and once you run it you fail on the PC Connected test if so you might want to try this.

There is NO need for a CrossOver cable

First off make sure you have Windows Media Connect installed and running on your PC and that your 360 appears on the Devices tab as Allowed ( You can change the folders that are shared by doing what is stated below*) If it is shown as allowed and you still cant get to the Media on your PC through your xBox try the following

On your xBox 360 go to System Tab > Computers > Windows-Based PC > Disconnect

Now that you have done the Above go back to the Media Tab and now select Music or Pictures your choice and it should now as you if Windows Media Connect is installed select yes and if all goes to plan you should now be looking at your List of Music or Pictures...

*By default your own documents is the only folder your 360 can gain access to you, can easily change this to any folder or drive you want by going to the Sharing Tab>Add...>Then direct it to any drive or folder on your HDD

I Hope This Solves Your Problem If You Are Reading This
