Default Info: Using teflon tape.

I've been seeing too many leaks that have caused hundreds of dollars worth of damage that a $1 roll of tape could have prevented. You can buy Teflon Tape at any hardware store. It's found in the plumbing section.

It is used on any threaded joint in your system.

The teflon keeps the gauling from happening and thus lets them be screwed tighter together and thus promote a successful seal.
It doesn't matter if it has a seal ring around the top of the threads USE IT. $1 or $300+ for a new GPU, CPU, MB, HD, DVD-R...you get the point.

1$ you say? How many meters is that? (Or feet for that sake)
I bought some to my mouse and it were about 150 DKR (20$) for 15 meters.

I'd reccomend spending a few dollars more and get something like "Hercules Tape Dope" it uses real DuPont Teflon in it, only like 5 or 6 bucks, roll of it lasts a long time..

Only difference between Teflon is if it's virgin or not. Virgin Teflon isn't recycled and it is the most slippery kind. For plumbers any kind of Teflon tape will do, and will last forever.
