Also, if you cool the bottom if the heatsink, the top will not be as hot.

ived already try it and ( for me ) it work not better and the dust came under my heatsink (must remove it to dedust it ) so , IT SUCK

Well it just makes more sense to take the cool air from the middle of the case and blow it at your motherboard than take the warm air from your motherboard (northbridge etc) and blow it up at your fins.
