owowowowow. You DO NOT "PRESS" a CPU into a ZIF socket!!!!
ZIF = Zero Insertion Force
Pushing = a force of some kind
You "DROP" a CPU into a ZIF socket, then check for visual signs that it is fully in. Ie. look at where the CPU board and ZIF socket meet. Do they sit together flush? If so, put the handle down and lock it in place. If the CPU does NOT sit in place, check the orientation of the CPU, and if this does not work, check for bent pins on the bottom of the CPU, and VERY VERY carefully (whilst fully grounded/connected to an earth) bend the pin back with a pair of tweezers or long nosed pliers.
Sorry, but the crudness of you CPU installation sent shivers down my spine. An athlon fx-60 getting pushed into a motherboard. brrrrrrr
