ok well if you havent read my windows tweaks you should lol well this is a internet tweak this is only for people with dsl/cable/t1/t1 or any broadband connection and you must have xp professional.
__________________as we all know windows xp is much better at handling high speed internet connections than "made for dial up" windows 98 and 2000.theres still a twer to increase your connection speed but it only works for windows xp pro. 1 click start select run 2 type gpedit.msc 3 expand the LOCAL COMPUTER POLICY branch 4 expand the ADMINISTRATIVE TEMPLATES branch 5 expand the NETWORK BRANCH 6 highlight the QOS PACKET SCHEDULER in the left window 7 in the right window dobble click the LIMIT RESERVABLE BANDWITH SETTING 8 on the setting tab check the ENABLE ITEM 9 where it says BANDWITH LIMIT % change it to 0 10 close window and reboot to start new settings ive gooten positive and negative feed back on regular windows xp but i suggest you dont use unlkess u have xp pro but do what you would like if i helped any hit me up with some reps

it works for all Windows XP OS systems. Altho... im not sure about the new 64-bit OS from windows.

oh my god...overclock.net loads SO fast. no longer does it lag. OMG OMG OMG I LOVE YOU! (xp pro here). this WORKS!

Wow, My bandwidth was limited to 40%. I'm glad I stumble upon this hidden jewel. I would rep, but hes Banned so it doesn't matter, lol.

okay i know this is prolly an old faq but ive got xp home and i cant find gpedit.msc on my machine anyother way of gettin to this? im off to look into the admin. folder stuff thnks and rep 2 all who help

The best way to get the speed on this, is just disable QoS packeting in your network properties, and/or turn off the service in xp services. I turn off every single service I don't need/use, there a waste of space!!
