Using a Stanley Knife also works a real treat !

I would suggest this when you have more than a few pins bent,
For example i had a 478 chip and there was about 60 pins bent.
20 mins with a stanley knife and a beer and i was done, booted first time :D
Plus once u placed it back in the socket a few times the pins will straighten out perfectly :D

Hope this helps a few of you.

Good idea, but the pins usually breat the plastic mechanical pencil. It is best to get a metal tipped one.

Im happy, coz I can fix my motherboard and sell it..

Im sad, coz I threw away a 478 3.0 18 months ago coz I thought it was gone for good,

oh well I suppose that's fairly old tech now, my dual core will do much better..mm..
