Thanks for the suggestion! Always looking for the next quieter PC--I was pleasantly surprised by the Aerocool Extreme Engine T3--the 250mm side fan is dead quiet--quieter than the 120mm fans by far--and pushes 160 cfm too!
The Silverstone Zeus 560 is one of the quieter PSUs I have encountered--no fan control and a single 80mm fan--but it works great. Building a quiet PC takes more planning than just going for benchmarks or FPS...a lot of details and first hand knowledge of hardware. The DBA ratings are virtually useless since the Mfrs just make them up anyway. Unless you get a chance to personally hear a fan or a PSU or DVD burner it is just about impossible to know what you are getting. That is why I have a modding bin full of gear that just didn't make the cut. And a lot of improvements can be made to any PC by applying some of the techniques covered in the FAQ. Thanks for taking a look! CyberD

I hear that. I keep trying different things to make my rigs quieter--the more PCs I accumulate the more the noise becomes a factor.
Everything makes noise--it's just a matter of isolating mechanical noises and reducing turbulent noises. Case design has come a fair ways since I wrote this FAQ and mfrs are paying more attention to these details. The bigger fans (200 and 250mm) are the best thing to come along since isolastic grommets... The latest heatpipe type coolers using 120mm fans are a blessing too--as they are so much less annoying than the 80mm variety. For those of us who spend a long time around PCs hearing damage is a serious issue. I can attest that I now have a high pitched ringing in my ears I attribute in part to being on the PC all day... After a while I am ready to turn down the overvolt/overclock and run silent.
