This is excellent and makes ur windows look l33t. I've not posted in a while and would like to show you all the link to the best site with a precise guide onto doing this.
__________________But doing this wrong could make ur explorer.exe not start again. You can press ctrl+alt+delete and then run regedit, or what ever necessary to fix the issue. Have fun. The link is: http://www.theeldergeek.com/change_t...art_button.htm Here is one I made earlier. Also, when you hover your mouse over your start button and get a popup that reads 'click here to start' that can be edited too. In resource hacker open 'string table' then navigate to string 34. Once there line 533 next to that you will see "click here to begin", that's where you edit it. Then you just save changes.

this works perfectly, and is a great FAQ
__________________one thing that you should mention is that this only works on the "Windows XP" theme...if you use "Windows Classic" or anything else that doesn't use the default XP taskbar, it will stay at the word "Start". rep++ anyway

Quick note to newer members who might see this and think "Oh wow, that's cool". Please proceed with great caution. If you are inexperienced or still made uneasy by taking risks with your computer then be aware that this will alter your Windows registry which is the most flawed and most often corrupted piece of software on your computer. It is also unfortunately a very vital piece of software and is therefore likely to cause the need for rollbacks or reformats to arise. This procedure is not very dangerous, but be warned. I just felt like the warning that the page and this FAQ give don't quite do the flaws of Windows XP justice.

This hack does take a degree of technical skill. Scruff is correct. If you're unsure and dont follow the guide properly then trying this could result in a format. So be warned.

By the way, AdAware does in fact pick up on the change of the registery, so be careful that you don't accidently delete your new shell. I imagine if you did it'd cause problems. I haven't found a work-around for it and I kind of doubt there is one.

Hey, Theeldergeek.com is down. Maybe it's because they are based near LA? I know a lot of sites are down because of the outages. That's crap. If anyone could tell me the one program that they used I could do the rest. mistformshadow@yahoo.com
