i think some people are missing the point, ok when your computer is over heating, puting fans in helps cool it down, so if you in a room with no windows and a door which has draft excluders and so on the WHOLE room will heat up. ok so if you cool the components down inside the CRT then it won't produce as much heat so the room won't go any hotter.

Nice FAQ, well thought. out of curiosity you got any pictures? :D

Unfortunately I don't have it set up anymore, I do have a bigger one that gets even hotter, I had the 4x 80mm fans sitting on the top grill, but I'm using the the switch and adapter for someting else so its not on the monitor anymore, my room is like an ice box now anyway :p

I agree with anjokid, since if your wires in you crt are hot, they need more current to pass through it, causing it to use more power and create even more heat. This way will send the heat into your room, but it will have an overall effect of it producing less heat. Not sure if it not producing alot of heat but blowing it out into the room is better, temp wise, for the room or not.
