How to: Unlock a Hidden Sniper Rifle in BF2 1.02
Not many people know this but the BF2 team actually completed another gun which they didn't include in the game! They modeled and skinned a Barrett M82 .50 sniper rifle but I guess they chose to include the M95 instead... The M82 is also made by Barrett but it is semi-automatic and in my opinion, is far superior. The retail price for one of these guns is around $7500. Anyways, I will tell you how to unlock this gun in single player...
-------------------------------------------------------------------------- First off, you will need a copy of Battlefield 2 (duh). Also, you will need to download and install a copy of the BF2 realism mod which can be found here: http://battlefield2.filefront.com/fi...lism_V30;45671 Before you start trying to unlock the M82 you should read the original post that I got the idea to do this. It is written by kingdude and is what I based this FAQ on. http://www.overclock.net/showthread.php?t=47145 Okay, now that you've finished, you're ready to start! -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Now, go into C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\mods\bf2_realism and open Objects_realism.zip with WinRar or some other comparible program. Once open, go into Kits\US(or whatever country you want to have the M82)\US_Sniper.con. Once extracted and open, change the line ObjectTemplate.unlockLevel 1 to ObjectTemplate.unlockLevel 0. Now, save the file and repack it back into US_Sniper.con. You're done! -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Even though you have now unlocked the M82, the Kit Selection screen will still display the default sniper rifle for that country. Don't worry! Just select it anyway and start the game. You will spawn with the M82. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- *If when you try to open BF2_realism mod, it doesn't open to the main menu, you will need to restart your computer and then it will work. *You will need BF2 Realism Mod. If you try to unlock the M82 in regular BF2, it will not have sound and may cause BF2 to crash.

It's a MOD so I dout this would work unless the sever your playing on is running that same MOD. I read up on it via the links and I would assume this would punt you via PunkBuster on regular servers.

krunk, this rifle is in the Point Of Existance BF2 mod(multiplayer), such a great rifle but can only be fired while prone :( nice faq
