I was having trouble getting F@H to run on my Linux laptop. I found the instructions on the F@H website to assume you knew what to do more so than tell you. Hopefully this will alleviate that for you so you have an easier time to start folding with your Linux machine.

Firstly, if you haven't already done so download the F@H program from http://folding.stanford.edu

Save it somewhere you can find it easily. For instance, I saved it to the desktop.

Next, open up the system terminal and login as root (if you haven't already done so).

Then, change the directory to where the downloaded file is. Mine was cd /root/Desktop. Your terminal line should read something like this:
[root@localhost Desktop]#
If it doesn't work remember that it is case sensitive, so ensure you typed it in exactly as it appears in the file system.

Then type the following:
chmod +x FAH502-Linux.exe (This may change as updates are released.)

Lastly run the program by typing ./FAH502-Linux.exe

The next thing you should see is the console program open up underneath the commands you just input.

for anybody who cant be bothered typing the directory and are using kde(not sure bout gnome or anything else) just go to the directory where FAH502-linux(or whatever ur version u got) is, right click, actions, open terminal here, then su, then password and follow Chim3ra's instructions from there
