As you must know, the X800GTO² (GTO2) is a video card made exclusively by Sapphire Tech, and uses the same core as an X850XT. It is 100% moddable to this top of the line card, and it only costs $199. It is better to buy this than any other ATI card, if you have the money to do so. Here's the simple way of how to do it (Thanks to Sphere).
__________________1)Download the following: Winflash Modified X800GTO2 BIOS (16 pipe enabled) 2) Follow instructions with Winflash to flash your card to the modified BIOS. you may have to reboot to get effects. BIG Caveat: I have not tried this. I got these loose instructions from Sphere. Do not blame me for any possible damage!!! If you need to, the unmodified BIOS is here See Techpowerup's site from some more info. Do the mod as explained here, but pages one and three will have some helpful info. Hope this helps! this card, once modified, will pwn anything else, for the price you pay for it. EDIT::::: Look at SPHERE's addition. The modified flashrom on a bootable floppy is what you need, not winflash.

Well, actually i'm pretty sure the GTO2 uses the same core as the X800XL, which is the R430, the first X800 series used the R423. THe second series of X800 uses the R430, and the X850 series uses the R480 core.

http://www.overclock.net/faqs/43769-info-ati-x-series-official-spec.html :) Btw, there is the possibility the winflash utility won't enable the pipes. (some flash utilitys preserve the pipe settings of the prevous bios when flashing to a new one.) If the flash doesn't enable the pipes try a utility called flashrom. (Here is the moded version.) Put it on a dos boot disk with the bios file and type this command: flashrom.exe -p -f 0 x800gto2.bin (Or whatever the file is named.) |

Why are you using amodified BIOS when you can use the current bios and ATI-tool to unlock the pipelines. A modded BIOS yeilds many problems....
