A lot of us are PC enthusiast on a budget. We want the best parts at the best prices. This is a sort little FAQ on how to get that extra harddrive or new video card for the best price.
__________________First off research. Somone who researches will not only get the best product for their need, but they will get the best price. Use website like Anandtech's Real Time Price Engine. Check the price everyday, and look for trends. Anandtech provides graphs and such on the price trends. Second, keep up with news. Check news sites like DailyTech and Anandtech. You will often see articles on pricecuts, and new releases that will be sure to drive the prices of products down. Third, play around with your order. Maybe newegg.com has the cheapest price, but after shipping ZipZoomFly is cheaper. Play with your order, check for rebates, ect. Often ZipZoomFly has free shipping. A lot of people on this site automatically go to Newegg.com for their computer parts. They almost always have good prices, but not always the best. Check around, make that hard earned $$ stretch as much as you can!

I agree with you. I saved money looking around. I start off looking at Tigerdirect to find the parts I want. Then I visit newegg and zipzoomfly.com to see if they are cheaper and what shipping is. After that I go to the search bar and try to find anything even cheaper. Ebay is a good place too. Just make sure they have good feedback. I got my processor, soundcard, memory heat spreader there. I saved a few $.

I've been using www.pricewatch.com for a few years now and they seem to be good at finding those mom and pop never heard of before websites. Can often find things cheaper than newegg/tigerdirect.

I have used pricegrabber before. It is the same as pricewatch... My only problem with them is the info is not always current, and some of the websites they list are not trusted. I like Anandtech because they only list trusted websites.

Froogle is ok, but they list unreputable sellers. Anandtech only list proven sellers.
