Default Is putting my PC in a my desk a good idea?

Many modern day computer desks have a compartment for putting your computer in. Is it wise to use this space for your PC? Lets take a look at the pros and cons.

PROS:
1. You can run all your wires out the back of the compartment so you wont have to look at them all the time.
2. If you have a big computer, you can put it out of the way for more desk space.
3. It will DECREASE noise quite a lot. I put mine in there and it went from annoying to unobtrusive.

CONS:
1. If you have a modded or nice looking computer, putting out of sight will not be good.
2. Being in an enclosed space will raise temperatures for sure.
3. If you need to open up the case often or change connections and such, having to pull the pc out of the compartment can be a BIG hassle. *SOLUTION* "Put a towel underneath the computer! This replaces the high friction between the computer legs/pegs and the desk with the low friciton between the towel and the desk, so all you need to do is pull on the towel and out comes the computer! Very simple." Thanks to stargate125645 for this suggestion.

So now we've looked at the PROS and CONS. You have to look at your priorities and choose which option is best for you. Please alert me of anything you think I should change or edit.

the ease of use changes depending on where its placed. Its much harder to load CDs when my tower is sitting up on my desk showing off compared to my old when which sat in the compartment. I always have to stand and reach up and over to get a CD.

Its pretty much about, air flow, ease of use, and looks. Just lookinto those factors to determine the best spot.

Um, I think this needs to be more riveting... Listing the Pros and Cons is something basic that most people would do anyway, so you should make it more detailed with specific reasons or examples.

As for removal from the compartment, that shouldn't be listed as a Con as there is a simple solution that I'm surprised most haven't figured out yet: Put a towel underneath the computer! This replaces the high friction between the computer legs/pegs and the desk with the low friciton between the towel and the desk, so all you need to do is pull on the towel and out comes the computer! Very simple. Obviously, it works with any low-friction alternative. You should add that into your info as a fix for that Con.

Now that I think of it, you could add fixes or improvements/fixes for each of the cons as well as the examples I mentioned above. For example, my towel would be the improvement/fix for the compartment removal issue. An improvement/fix for the airflow issue could be to shift the computer to one side so that the side without a fan is agains the compartment wall, and the side with the fan thus has the most room to draw in air.

If you use any of this, please credit me!

Erm, I had a typo in my sentence (as it appears on the first post by emberix). Would you mind fixing the word to "underneath"? Thanks!

Good work, by the way!

Grrr, another error. I must have not been paying attention when typing what I said... The word "These" should be "This" in the second sentence, if you wouldn't mind fixing it again.

Thanks in advance!
