Default How to: Remove programs from the add/remove programs list.

When you open your add/remove programs area under the control panel, do you see some programs there that have been uninstalled for months or even years? Then you click "remove" and it still remains on the list.

You can remove these itemsby going into your registry. If you are not comfortable going into your registry then don't attempt this.

Here's what to do:

1. Click "Start", then run and type in regedit and hit enter..

2. Now tht your registry editor is up, go to the File menu, then Export Registry to back it up befor your make any changes.

3. Now go to:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\Uninstall

4. Under this folder, you should see all the things on your add/remove programs list. You can right slick on the stubborn item and click delete to remove it.

Now it should be gone from the add/remove list.

Also, another thing you could no in case you NEVER want someone to uninstall a certain installed program, is to delete it from this list. This will not remove program, it'll just take it off of this list.
