I've done some reading and i don't think that patch really does anything... it seems it allows more 'incomplete' connections.
__________________right now uTorrent should have no reason to outdo bit comet by 10 fold... mabye by 10 kbs but not from 25 to 250... there's something else wrong here for the moment. any other suggestions? oh and my Protocol encryption is set to: always Anyone got more ideazs?

And for the patch... open Event Viewer ( run -> eventvwr.msc /s ) and search for 4226 error. If you find any than you may need to patch your tcpip.sys This link has a few details about it. It dont cost nothing to try... if you dont just revert the patch.

k i switched to utorrent, got a new batch of high seed torrents, and started downloading in utorrent in a port i know is forwarded.
__________________Then i applied the patch. My download speed is still stuck at under 70 Kb/s (mostly around 30)... what's that about? Why can't i run at 250-300? again i'm on a 5Mbit Connection, and a D-Link Router... three wireless conections on it as well as my hardlined PC... Edit: i only had about 10 4226 errors since sept.

For a 5Mb connection the maximum speed is 625Kb/s. Divided between 3 connection +/- 208. In theory it would be the max for each connect, but as I said before, if you dont limit the connection for each computer, the first one could have 400Kb and the others two will share the 225Kb left. Another scenario is one connection with 500Kb and only 125 left for the others 2. About the ports, each connection should have an exclusive port forwarded. Just to check if the port is OK, try this site: https://www.grc.com/x/ne.dll?bh0bkyd2 Just run the test twice. First, keep you torrent client open and scan the port used for torrent connection. Then, close your torrent client and try it again. It should give you Open for the 1st and then Closed or Stealth for the 2nd. If you got Closed or Stealth in the first test or Open in the second, that means there are other torrent client using the same port as you. Just change the port used, forward it properly in the router and try again. Im using a port above 25000 since some ISP used to block known ports used for P2P networks. If that is not your problem, then I have no idea why you are getting a such low speed. You didn't mention before, but if you're using firewall then you need to allow either the torrent client or the port used.
