You can only have 8 cores per team.

So you could have 8 single core CPUs, or 4 dual-core CPUs, or 2 quad-core CPUs. Or any combination of those which results in 8 cores!

Can't use a quad core, because each member of the folding team can only have 3 cores each at max.

Whoever gets 4 Conroes folding 24/7 at 3.0Ghz or higher with SMP will have a BIG chance of winning the competition.

Just for your information, we have few teams with 3 SMP folders -
ascension (will be 4 i think) - High production team.. If shack gets his rig up and running, might be unstoppable except for Taeric...
owners (have 3 but.. i run on X2 so......)

Then there are some fast folders..
C2D (will be ready for April or May competition)
Folding Fury - Possible winner for this month, Pauldovi was down for few days
TOFTOF - a rock solid team. I think only turned to SMP..
Zang! - won last month.. but team needs one more member, i wonder if they found one yet

There are some single power folders..

The Points

SMP
Usually X2 yields about 1000~1200 ppd
Conroes at 3.0Ghz yields about 1600~1800 ppd
Conroes at 3.6Ghz yields about 2200 ppd

Windows
X2 yields 300~600 ppd (depending on WU's)
Conroe 600~1000 ppd

Clearly, whoever has more SMP running, has the upper hand.

So, theoretical max of team production is about 250,000 points per month if 4 Conroes at 3.6Ghz.

Before SMP, winning team used to average 50,000
Now the bar has been raised to 100,000

I speculate many teams will break 75k mark..

Even though there are 10 days left, I assume it will be a close race towards the end of the month
We, owner is heading towards 95k month (Cowboy and Franken had few days down so no more 100k mark), Then Folding Fury had Pauldovi down for few days.. so about 85k. Then the newly rising ascension might be able to hit 90k, if not more! I don't know if any other team will make their ways upto that region. But thats how i see it.

Hopefully these numbers help you select which members to compete... and how much firepower you need to actually beat the team OWNER (or any other team)
