I'll join. I run the smp client 24/7, but it does slow way down when I am on my main rig (4-5 hrs a night) I am also slowly putting together a budget AMD folder (once I get a mobo w/onboard gfx for cheap)

Default Pick me!

I'm running our very own OCNix (OverClock.Net Linux) and will be running SMP as soon as I can figure out how to install it. I'm currently running the 32-bit version 24/7

But yes, overall, people need to look at this from the perspective of a business and not of an enthusiast. I look at many of these posts and say to my self, "And that type of thinking is exactly why you're not running the business..." lol

I might be interested. How is it that you setup your team# and login when joining a team again?

I have my sig rig, and a phenom HTPC in the works. A quad for my workstation is on the way, so I'll have a total of 12 cores in a week or so.

All will be running 24/7 of course.

Sweet, you're welcome to the team! Please fill out your system specs so we can figure out our member/active-core setup.

Great googly-moogly that's a lot of power! Each team is limited to 8 cores, with a 4 member requirement. No member may have more than 3 active cores folding for their team.

What this means for you: you can still fold on extra cores by running another instance of F@H on that core, but the points you amass from those "extra" cores will not count in the team competition. Those points will, however, will go towards your overall folding rank on OCN.

Hope that clears it up a bit.

Well, that's less than ideal considering I'm running only quad core machines

I really don't have an option to run SMP and only use 2 cores, unless I rip a processor out of my 4x4 (ain't happening).

I feel ya on that, it would be nice if you could devote a x4 rig to a team... Well you're still welcome to join, but dealing with team cores vs. personal cores would be a PITA, your call.

I wonder if the folding team rules will change when quad-cores become more common...

You could always just fold all 12 cores, split the cores across teams, and give Taeric some hard work, lol.

Just a thought.

Default My comp...

This is all the specs I could get from just looking at it thru OCNix's detection device thing. I'll call the owner after I get off work and get the rest of the specs.
