Ok. I understand now. Are you using wireless to connect? You know who is the absolute guru on connection problems in Linux is Gooda. I found a direct cable from the router works best. Then it will auto-detect the DCHP IP address and download the core. Try that. If not PM Gooda and he'll set you up ~JadeMiner~

EDIT: I'll have to try that DBAN. That might explain troubles I had with a certain HD!

Plugged into a modem or router? Odd. Maybe you could try and set up a static IP?

I've always found the eth0 detection to be very reliable on several different computers. I'm wondering how you have your router set up? I use Mac Address filtering because it's also wireless. You need to check that router to see if it's open up all possible connections. The 2nd alternative like Gooda said would be to get your IP Address on that cable from the modem and then check "yes" and enable it manually. I usually get into a command prompt (from that exact computer) and type ..... ipconfig /all .... then write down all the details.

Sounds good biatchi. What's OCNix? I love trying out new builds. Let me know when you have it sorted out. I'd be interested. Thanks.
