Ok guys here's the deal...

I need your expert opinion... Of the 2 Quads I recently set up, one is running fine with Fedora 7 on a Gigabyte P35-DS3L board. The other is flaky... I picked up a new and cheap ASUS P5K-E Wifi board. The board has crashed now 4 times in the last 2 days.
It now will not recognize the Cd-ROM IDE... I've been reading some interesting things about this board on newegg. Seems I'm not the only one. Anyway, it's a junk board and I'm going to give up on it...

So here's the dilemma. 1) Do I purchase another GA P35 DS3L board or something comparable for around $100.00 and put the Quad on it and dual fold SMP's with Windows XP OR 2) Do I purchase an BFG 8800GT OC board for $159.00 (after $30.00 mail in rebate) and put this video card on the recently pulled ASUS A8N-E Deluxe board with an X2-4200 on it???

Hmmm I get more points with the 8800GT, but the Gigabyte option is a little less money. You tell me what to do...

If I do the 8800GT option, don't fret. I'll put the Quad on one of my E-6600 boards (P5B-E or P35-DS3L) and put the E-6600 on one of my E-6300 boards (ASUS P5N or MSI P6N)... Either way I'll gain some points, but what should I do??

You make the call... :-)

BTW - I have a PNY 8800GT board that I bought from a OCN member on it's way. So in a short amount of time, I could have 2 - 8800GT's folding 24/7... I will have at least one 8800GT folding GPU2's, depending on your recommendations....

Do GPU folding. Much stable and produces incredible PPD!! 0_0

Wow, it was a beautiful day outside today. High 80s, low humidity, mostly sunny, and windy! Went up to the local high school to fly my kites. We got part of our stunt kite train up (6 of the 11 kites), as well as our more traditional stunt kite. Once the wind really picked up, it was great flying.

But this'll be another week without my girlfriend. She's in upstate New York visiting her family. With all my other friends working or just not being allowed in the house when a parent isn't home, it looks like I'll be curling up with my summer reading this week.

I'm very new to folding but from what I'm seeing the amount of PPD is pretty high with GPU folding. I have the 8800GT and its a great card (Both for gaming and folding )

Well guys, I took the plunge!

Bought a 9800GTX OC from BFG. Installed it this AM. And it's GPU2 folding as I write this. It has already completed one WU... WOW!

I'll be getting another 8800 later this week. We'll see how everything goes...

Take care, :-)

Anybody else find it odd that harmo has passed both me and HVAC, yet he still doesn't have the folding postbit?
