A few days ago I ordered a fan off Newegg and made sure it was the right one for me. When it came today I noticed that it was a 3 pin connector. Right now I've got a two fan pin connector because my leads were designed that way. Could someone link me to a 2 pin to 3 pin adapter or something along those lines so I can use this fan? Normally this wouldn't be a problem but I can't seem to find any fans that are only two pin connector.

If you have a multimeter to double check its pretty simple

If your fan only has 2 leads then one is power and one is ground. On the 3 pin the extra wire is for rpm.

Look for witing diagrams or pinouts and you can probably wire it up correwctly usig the adapter you bought.

The fan plugs are a standard.....

Most 2 pin fans come with 3 pin plugs for compatibility so that it can just plug in,,,,and go....

The same is for PWM fans, they can plug into 3 pin fan headers.

What you are better off doing is taking a pic of the 2pin plugged fan you have, and show us the configuration.
