I also noticed that my GRID responses with 0x20 to the init command.
I'm a noob when it comes to Python but I think I'm gonna try and implement support for the v1.
Sounds great, you can use my "grid-simulator" (also on GitHub) to get "Grid Control" running and then modify the simulator to simulate a Grid V1 unit. Should be reasonable straight forward to modify "Grid Control" to support the Grid V1 unit, e.g. use just one of the control settings in "Fan setup" for setting the fan curve for all fans.
Besides this, there may be changes on in the communication protocol, but I tried to keep my code well documented so I hope you can follow along how I have designed it :-)
