Download .97 Coretemp (the first for Vista x64) and the beta of Speedfan (1.44 build 40). They both report the same temp. Unfortunately they are reporting MUCH higher temps than Speedfan 1.43.

The 'CPU temp is around 31C. The old version is reporting CPU temps from 370 to 37. The new won reports the same 'CPU' temp, but core temps from 44 to 52C...at idle!

Historically, it reported system a degree or a few higher than the hottest core. And idle cores where in the mid-to-high 30's, maybe 40-42 on core 0.

Which is right?

Thanks,

David

Speedfan v1.43 has always been 15C wrong on conroes and kentsfields.

Your new temps are the right temps.

You need to reseat and maybe lower your overclock.. 53C on idle is way to hot.. espically on a B3. B3s won't overclock much at all they run very hot.
