Evening All,

Im not new to building PC's but want to check a few things with my new setup. Set it all up today Q6600 with a new Maximus Formula Extreme and the Tuniq Tower 120.

Couple of questions because im iddling at around 48/52 which isnt good!

1) Anyone had any problems with this setup before? ive noticed that the H plate is touching the top of the capacitors next to the cpu holder

2) Do the springs go above or below the H plate? (The instructions were NAFF!!)

3) ive done a simple lapping job on both, (not mirror finished) but whats the best method/way of applying the thermal paste? where abouts and how much?

Any help would be greatly appreciated,

The screws go above the plate and below the screw.

Screw till the spring is fully depressed and cannot be tightened any more.

The best way to apply would either be the line method, or the slightly less than BB size bit in the middle of the CPU.

When I tried attaching the Tuniq to my Maximus Formula it was touching the heatpipes on the motherboard, so I did not use it. I am sure I could have have it touching and still used it properly but it did not seem like it was going to fit snuggly without some kind of fabrication of removing heatpipes or grinding down the Tuniq itself.
