well i doubt it will be much better than a stock cooler... how much do you have to buy a new HSF? for around $50 you can get THE BEST air cooler out, and its the TT big typhoon, for a little less lke $30-37 you can get the zalman 7700cu... or a scythe ninja(but it needs a seperate 120mm fan)

so IMHO i dont thing its worth it... you will most likely buy and just be dissapointed!

I run an AMD XP2600+. I just bought the Thermaltake Polo 735 Rev.2 last week after putting up with warmer than wanted temps since buying it. Using the stock HSF @ stock speed (1912Mhz) idle was 60C, load up to 67C. After putting the 735 on (with AS5 paste), at stock idle was 48C load 51C. Clocking it up to 2127Mhz idle is 49-50C and load is 53-54C.
Noise - under full load it sounds like there is a vacuum in the next room; although that was when I had it set on auto and it would spin up to 5300rpm. I've plugged in the manual dial now and found the right compromise between cool vs db's.
I got it from umart for $45, best CHEAP investment I've made for my pc!

Ask me no questions and I'll tell you no lies....

I would recommend it for a decent "budget" cooler. Also get the "ducting mod" for it and it will give you another 3-5 degrees.

I would recommend the XP-90. Depending on where you buy it could cost you anywhere from (including fan) $40-$55. They cooled my temps by about 10c stock for load and idle. I'm running a 900mhz OC at an idle of 34c. Amazing cooler, absolutely amazing. Kinda left behind by the TT BT craze
