So can anyone else confirm if it would be alright to leave the paper bit on the H clip?

I don't see why it would be a problem... the screws will support it mostly anyway. I haven't tried... but you don't think the H clip will come off the mobo if you ever plan on switching? I don't think it sticks on THAT HARD. You could always ask Thermaltake via email if the clips are removable if you plan on changing the motherboard... i'm sure they could give you a better answer than any one of us.
