well then you should keep what you have.. sure an x850 might have more raw power.. but its older tech and lacks a few things your newer card has.

whats the big difference between the X850 and the 6800.. thery both have the same interface and memory

3 nvidia 6600's dead, 2 power supplies dead, 1 7800GS fried--overclocking... Priceless

You should turn Vsync OFF, because it limits your FPS according to your monitor refresh rate.

No it wont.... The 7800GS pwns the 7600GT, and the X850XTPE is alllllmost as good as the 7800GS. The X850pro he suggested can be flashed and overclocked up, and maybe past XTPE speeds giving him one of the fastest cards around.

So that X850Pro is a very good choice because the image quality is far from different when it comes to Shader model 2 and 3.

but the lack of SM 3.0 on the 850 will hurt it in sm 3.0 intensive games and certain benchmarks. what kind of score do you get on 05 and 06 3dmark programs with your 850.

The Lack of SM3 will make gamers look different but shouldnt be taken all that seriously IMO. If you want smooth gameplay with good eyecandy then the X850 is a very good card for the job.

there is no such thing as smart shader 3, please get your facts straight... its shader model 3...

the X850 series, or the X800 series is the card you want, read my comparison in graphics cards general: http://www.overclock.net/graphics-cards-general/118043-definitive-7600gt-vs-x850xt-comparison.html
