Hey guys I'm experiencing an issue that is really bothering me after playing a game my GPU's still hover around 70c even though the game has been closed and I'm simply idling. The temps don't change even an hour after playing the game. This issue usually occurs after playing a game of bf3. I have clean reinstalled my drivers to know avail and the drivers I am currently using are the latest beta drivers.

If anyone has experienced this issue or knows how to fix this issue it would be much appreciated if you helped.

Thanks smile.gif

It may be that you cards are not downclocking to default 2D clocks. Have you checked them in GPU-z ?? You could try to take the side panel off and add some airflow on the side to see if temps improve. Also, did this start happening after the driver update ? if so, you could roll back to the previous driver where this issue was not there.

I am checking temps with speedfan version 4.46. Just checked GPU-z and it is reporting the same temps. I know it has nothing to do with airflow because the cards are just fine when I don't play a game and the issue only occurs with certain games I think the one I noticed most is bf3. I'm not really sure when it started appearing or how I really noticed it.

Do the cards throttle back down to their 2D speeds ??

Both cards are at their default clock of 925MHz for the GPU and 1375Mhz for the memory

Well, that may explain why the temps don't lower. Could you try the last beta version (13.8) to see if the problem goes away ???

Okay so I did a clean reinstall to the latest non beta drivers and I think I figured out what my issue is. I'm running an overclocked 1440p monitor and in order to do so you must have a pixel clock patch and I think that stops my GPU's from downclocking. I noticed after installing the patch and restarting my GPU temps started to rise even though I was idling
