My 780 ti would not even break 80c (and that was when it was placed inside my Theatre cabinet) When it was outside open air it never passed 76c!! * Its a 3 fan cooler that extends across the entire board itself and 10 VRMS!!! + 1250 clocks.

That why I'm looking into this card because I think it can match the cooling performance of the 780 ti Phantom cooler. ( 3 Fan cooling seems to dramatically improve temps compared to Dual Fan cooling solutions.) As well the XFX Triple D has an extended rad, this deisgn allows another fan to be mounted beside it ( or in my case underneath the enite CARD so it can force air over top the extended Heat-Fin area. * I don't understand why there aren't too many VRM's on this CARD, From what I udnerstand VRM's help keep the Voltages more accurate if you've got a sloppy PSU etc, (But thats an entire other subject)

Either way this card seems to stay cooler than the Fury X?? thumb.gif

Well, it's not cooler than the X from my understanding, as many users see 50's on the core with those, but 60C is still excellent for air cooling, and I'm not even pushing the fans hard at all..... Maybe low 50's is possible with 80%+ fan though.... I'll test it out.... lol

Notice this card does have a bit of coil wine though..... luckily it's not louder than my case fans and TV, and doesn't bother me a bit, lol

You want to keep the temps down on the FURY X just dial in 52C max and 100% fan in Catalyst control Center. Your GPU should not see 50C after a hour of gaming and its surprising not loud. thumb.gif

* In my Mini Case build I just let the fans Crank out 100%.

They are loud, but at 6Feet back its, it not too distracting , as long as the temps are stable.

A year from now, we'll have some well developed monitoring apps and overclocking apps with voltage control and some really nice drivers, along with some dx12 games, and we'll be glad we got these cards.... I just hope they aren't dirt cheap when that happens... Though i do feel good about getting my fury new for $520.... Gtx 980 has been $500-550 for a while now, and 390x still fetches $430, and while the 390 is a superb value in 1080p, this fury is unbelievable at 4k!

This is my first over-$400 GPU purchase since 2005! Fury don't fail me now! lol

* Valve should should include a software temp monitor in steam you can reference somewhere , how difficult would it be to implement it.

* These cards should play most new releases for another few years,.

Then its time to move to True Photo Realism with Better DirectX12 Shaders that can use tons of Memory Bandwidth and draw up wonderful looking images...drool.gif, I'm sure that's what HBM or GDDR5X will be meant to do, so it's a trick that requires at least 1TB of memory though, but in the end its better than waiting for Ray-tracing compute to come to Market.

I just looked at the Saphire Fury at MicroCenter. Was thinking of your card when I did... so tempting... so tempting... rolleyes.gif

@Agent Smith1984

Thanks for sharing man, +1 rep for the info since install...congrats on the Fury. Awesome it can crunch Crysis 3 @ 4K res. thumb.gif

I'm hoping I get my 780Ti sold to someone I know locally that's undecided. I've been eyeing the Gigabyte Fury which isn't available on Newegg just yet.

I only see this card getting better with time and I'll be at 1440p for the forseeable future. By April I may make the jump to 4K myself if not, at the very least IPS 120Hz @ 1440p & HBM1 on board.. smile.gif

From what I can tell the Gigabyte R9 Fury is just using a stretched reference PCB and it looks like the cooler won't be on par with the XFX or the Sapphire card because those both have a direct pass through the finstack while the GB needs to force the air around the PCB.
