Guys. I have a serious question. Judging from what AMD is telling us about about 480x performance being in the 500 dollar performance range for 199 bucks. Could it effect the resale value of normal Fury (non X) if so should I sell my cards before 480 launches proper?

Also, we're discussing intel because it seems like there's no way to enforce pure-AMD build threads in this forum. It should be renamed the 'you really want intel instead' forum.

I would already think the value has tanked on them. With the 1070 already "out" in the enthusiast mindset, I don't anticipate an easy sell at more than $300ish for a used Fury. Oh well, Fury X is plenty fast for me until Vega and then I'll sell it for pennies or give it to my brother to replace his 280x.

I don't mind, I just think it is good that AMD has a serious chance at getting back into the game now with Polaris.

I bought the Radeon Pro Duo like a week ago, and I'm extremely satisfied. This card is silent as can be, runs cool, and has so much power it puts a grin on my face whenever i play games. The plan is that it will last me a good 3-4 years ( the last 4th year with low-medium settings ).

That's exactly how I feel too, Fury X is quiet as can be, runs cool, plows through anything I throw at it at 1440p. I went from Crossfire 290x's which I hated to a Fury Tri-X and now the Fury X and I'm done for a while. No matter what else gets announced this year.

I agree with you and Medusa. I also own the Fury X and it has been great so far. It's very quiet and the GPU temps are always very low. I don't think I'm ever going back to air. AMD has clawed back some of the GPU market and I hope they continue to do well. We all need competition and the $200 Radeon RX480 is a step in the correct direction. I can't wait to see Vega and big Pascal go head to head whenever they release.

I still feel that I'll still be using my Fury X until then and possibly afterwards since AMD GPUs tend to age very well compared to my old GTX 400\500\600 series. Doom @ 1440p gives me 83fps average and 4K gives me 48fps average. That's running 100% Max-Ultra Settings + OpenGL 4.3 and we are still waiting on Vulkan. So once DX12\Vulkan takes off the Fury X might age better than we think, even with the 4GB HBM limitation [based on my Hitman 4K DX12 results].

Considering the Fury X (blocked. ..no idea what to expected with it in stock AIO config) is the only piece of hardware I am satisfied with in my new build I have to agree. Sadly I dislike win10 yet need it for DX12....Chances are it will be the only thing to remain after a rebuild aside my PSU and Intel SSD...done with Samsung...

I will probably keep the Fury X for a 4K rig to play single player games where IQ matters more and buy something budget to play shooters and online stuff at 1080 144hz. I would just dual display it but frankly I prefer a single screen per system...I know...old man.

2x 175 W Nano
+ 1x 84 W Intel
+ a few watt for everything else. That's sth around 500 watt max.

So yes, it will be enough. There is room for OC as well.

Btw, good choice. SeaSonic power supplies are really well built and their support is A+.
