I don't think installing and Ati drive with an nvidia card present would work. Would the installation tell you something like "no compatible hardware found" or something like that?

Are both your monitors plugged into the Video card when you are booting into windows with the drivers installed?

I pretty sure yes. But hey you have no other option and nothing to lose, and a lot of time I'm guessing? It's worth a try.

no i unplugged 1 of them just to make sure that that was not causing the problem. II can not install the drivers period because i can not boot into windows unless its safe mode. I also can not install drivers in safe mode.

1 last thing im trying is going to be installing ati drivers with nvidia card in. If not i am going to email them tonight.

Jesus i was so excited to finally get my card back and im presented with this. I do no want to reformat because i will be getting my SSD thursday or maybe friday. I still dont think that will be a solution, while i wait for sapphire to respond to me i will try and take this over to a friends house and see what goes on with his pc. This pisses me off so bad. I am going to attempt to get the 4gb card for my problems or see if i can get a refund and i am not paying for shipping again.

Best bet would be to try it in a friends PC for sure. Good luck with getting that 4GB version, give them hell!

I had an issue similar to this when I changed GPUs on Windows 7. I swapped out either an nVidia or ATi GPU for one of the opposite company and I could no longer get a display after the loading screen. I never figured it out, so I just backed everything up and reinstalled. Things were peachy after that!

Edit: Note, when I changed the GPUs, I did the full process of uninstalling, cleaning, and installing the proper drivers. Windows just acted funny and absolutely would not display anything after the loading screen. Safe mode worked fine (which is how I backed up my stuff). I strongly believe this is a software problem (more specifically, Windows) and not a hardware problem.
