So i need an upgrade on my cpu, and i got a socket 754 version of the A64 3000+ 2.0 Ghz stock. I got $90, so my question is... if i get this motherboard and i overclock my cpu to possibly 2.6 Ghz will i notice a difference in games and such? and is it even worth the upgrade?

Yes you will notice a difference with an overclock. That Motherboard however i cant comment on. However if you get a higher clock you will notice the bottlenkeck lesson on your G-card..Your overall system performance will increase aswel as gaming.

The Biostar 6100-939 TForce OC well
You should see at lease 2400 or possibly more. You may however need a better HSF to keep it cool, a good inexpensive option... Was $15.06 but has gone up a few dollaes, still a great buy.

Worth the investment, probably... the OCing of 2400 and up should equate to about a 3.5-3.7G performance level

the freezer is a great heatsink..so...I dono man. Either way they're both good.

But I'll agree a 2.6 overclock is good.

I overclocked my friends from 2.0 to 2.4 and he said he noticed a huge difference. (he has a recording studio and does all his work on that rig)

Ah i see, i got a new question. That T-force seems like a good motherboard but the failing rate for them seems to be high on the newer reviews so i think the egg has a pretty bad shipment of them in. So i was thinking if i should go with this or THIS , its got full eggs and seems ok from what i read...

I have the 3000+ on a T-Force 754 mother board. best overclocking Ive ever had. I have a thermaltake big typhoon on the CPU. Im at 2.71Ghz with the fan at about 40% and 36c at full load. Im having problems with the ram which is holding be back. Ive tried 3 brands I had laying around and none of them will let me get past 230mhz fsb unless the devider is dropped down to 100mhz. which drops the mem from about 1600MB/sec to 1050MB/s when the FSB is at 280MHz. I cant figure it out. is it timing? The processor has soooo much more room but the ram is killing me!

Wow the most ive ever heard on a 3000+ was a 2.6 overclock, congrats. Im going to try out the T-force and see if it works fine, i'l get a zalman with it too.
