Here's a strange one...

I have a Biostar Geforce 6100-M9 and an X2 3800+ (Toledo). It will do 225 FSB from the BIOS easily. But anything over that and it won't boot. I get the bios safety screen.

I can go into CpuGen and up it to 245FSB and it will work?! It won't freeze or restart until I goto 250+ FSB.

Is this just a really craptastic Mobo or something? I could run 250+ FSB on my old 3000+ no problem. OR, do I just have a bad OC chip?

And yes, my DDR is set to 166 (333) and 3-4-4-8 2T.

Should I just buy the TForce? I have to have uAtx cuz of my case.

I <3 You!

Biostar Geforce boards aren't nearly as good for OC'ing as the TForce.... there's one for sale here:

I had that same board before but with an Opty 180. Some frequencies would work, others wouldn't. I was able to get up to 242MHz on that board. But for some strange reason I couldn't hit 226. Try jumping a little higher and see what it gets you.
winginit and arbalest like this.

I overclock like Flava Flav in a watch factory!

Crysis Benchmark DX10 High 1680x1050 - 35.575FPS

Crysis Benchmark DX10 Very High 1680x1050 - 20.08 FPS

3DMark06 - 14089
3DMark Vantage - H4721

nVidia ForceWare 180.48

That is crazy, and thats EXACTLY what just happened! lol

I hit 242 first try! Nothing more though.. even upping vCore I can't go above 242.

Thanks for the insight!

Yeah those boards are weird. I couldn't get above 242 stable either. Enjoy your OC!

I just don't think that board can do over 242. But if anyone can make it happen, I'd love to see it!

Hey... I hit 271 FSB today.

x2 3800+ @ 2.7ghz -- 1.3v

Temps are still high. 45-50c at IDLE!!! Not much I can do with my current case and HSF setup!

Gonna ditch the HTPC case and just get a midtower. PLUS I bought the tForce from 'lost', so whenever that comes I'll see what this chip really can do! I'm excited though... 2.7 @ stock vcore, up from 2ghz is nothing to sneeze at! I want 3ghz!!!

Just thought I'd let you know I did that today
