After about two years i have decided to upgrade my P4 2.6rig to 4000+AMD (i had AMD before wanted to try something new but still think AMD is better) Now i have two questions : which is better? AMD Athlon 64 4000+ ClawHammer 1GHz or AMD Athlon 64 4000+ San Diego 1GHz . I am using win xp pro with service pack 2. and this rig will be made for gaming. which do you guys recommend and also what mobo do you recommend when using a AGP slot ( i have 6800gt, still good ).
as for now this is what i want to get :
4000+ san or claw
i got this card > o/c 6800gt leadtek to 6800ultra 256ram AGP
ASUS A8V Socket 939 VIA K8T800 Pro
OCZ 2GB (2 x 1GB) 184-Pin DDR SDRAM DDR 400 (PC 3200) Unbuffered Dual Channel
and new power supply. and recommendations are welcome! thanks guys or gals!

San Diego is better. They have SSE3 and the Clawhammers don't.

San Diego is better than a clawhammer. Improved memory controller along with 90nm and SSE3 makes it a better cpu.

Get the San Diego, it is so much better of an overclocker than the Clawhammer. Also, try to get a nForce3 motherboard. The VIA chipsets are not that good of preformers. Otherwise, it looks great!
