well, Ive decided to build my own pc. Sony is really annoying to upgrade.

this is what I have so far.

Motherboard-Asrock 939Dual-Sata2- http://www.cancomputer.com/index.php...id=pricecanada
CPU- AMD Athlon 64 3500+2.2Ghz- http://canadacomputers.com/index.php...75&cid=CPU.611
RAM- OCZ premier dual channel 1024 (512 x 2)- http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applicatio...478&CatId=1082
HD- Western Digital 160gig- http://canadacomputers.com/index.php...7288&cid=HD.96
Sony DRU800A- http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applicatio...511697&CatId=0

Im not sure on which power supply to get yet. I will currently be running a X700pro but im going to upgrade to a 7800GT soon.

tell me what you think, how long will this system last?

Good except the motherboard. You can save some money by getting SATA instead of SATA II and getting a better overclocking motherboard. Also the 3500+ isn't really worth the extra money. Either get a 3700+ San Diego or a 3200+ and overclock it. It'll last a good 5-10 years or so.

The MSI Neo4-F is good. $80, PCI-e though. If you don't have the money to get a PCI-e card, buy a really cheap PCI-e card like the X300, just to hold youi over then resell it at a pawn shop or something like that.

get the opteron 148 if you can, otherwise get the 3700.

I am a fan of 1GB stick of memory. Dual channel mem isn't very important if the rest of you rig is good.

10 years of overclocking!

wait if there's a pci-e to agp adapter, then would there be a agp to pci-e adapter?
because if there is one, then his problems will be solved.
