welcome aboard mate!!! btw, if u need help, why dont u suggest ur budget and ur preferences in terms of whether u want intel or amd, nvidia or ati and so on. if u dont have preferences and only want the best for ur money, give us a budget and we will work it out for u.

welcome again.

Thanks for the reply and hearty welcome. Also congradulations on reaching the 4 GHz mark, nice one !

My budget is around £500.I've actually bought the K8N neo4 motherboard and the Geil memory.

I would prefer to have an AMD and Nvidia setup.

hey matt the only thing wee need to know is what is your budget and here are a couple of good stores below

www.scan.co.uk
www.savastore.co.uk
www.microdirect.co.uk

the 3700+ is a good buy because it can be clocked to 3.0ghz with a little bit of farting about so go with that as for the bord ist good as well i pearsonaly have had a msi before and they are good boards i had a socket A kt6 and it was great as for the graphics cards in the next couple of months the 6800/7800 will drop in price so go for what you can afford at the time buy the best you can afford . the memory is fine and i own it myself i t can take up to 2.95v under warrenty i have mine at 2.7v and can get 220mhz when i slackin the timmings of to 3.3.3.6 .2t so it ok harddrive 80gb is fine and try the 74gb raptor 10 000 rpm it great and has plenty of storge for all those games.

maybe opting for a 3200+ venice will be better and save you some cash (30-50, not really sure about the prices), then you can get a 6800GS or even 7800GT if you save. For hdds, seagate is usually the brand you should go for, they have nice stable hdds at good prices.

that'll be too expensive for his budget, and using the money for a better gfx card will benefit much greatly in gaming performance/fps which i bet he wants more than faster loading times/slight fps inc.
