i am going to give this pc to my brother and buy a new one for myself

i am not a hardcore gamer, well actualy i am but my dad doesnt let me play so i dont wan to spend 300 on a graphics card. i plan on using Photoshop, internet, a few games, and dvd encoding

I think you should look around neweeg a bit more cause for 1200 bucks it kinda seems like your getting ripped off,but then again that is including tax and shipping so I guess its alright.

i also have to add a dvd+-rw, mouse, keyboard so it cannot excede 1200

i am not sure if i should get that ram or if i should get ddr400
I have that case and truthfully its not that impressive. It has a great side panel and the room inside is nice, but in all the PCi slot holes are flimsy and you have to break them out by folding the metal back and forth. I would most definetly recommend a different case. Save another 20 bucks and get something nicer. In all though good build.

If you want my humble opinion, go for a dual core Intel build. But, ONLY if you plan to overclock. A Pentium D 920 for $245 will easily play around with a lightly overclocked FX60... A 920 can easily get to 4Ghz on air, which according to benchmarks matches a FX60. Most people can get them to about 4.2Ghz, so I really would recommend it.

Plus you will be able to upgrade to a Conroe build!
