I agree with those guys at the first page that the 8 looks kind of butchered...

Can you post compare links with the free 3dmark06?

Why are you all comparing it the clock speed of your cpu. Most people who say bull**** and state their clock speed are on a 65nm intel. While the 45nm has a better architecture so a e6750 at 3.6ghz != e8400 at 3.6ghz. The e8400 is faster. Don't forget the 9600GT's perform better in SLi than the 8 series.

Still, a compare link would be nice.

Far2Paranoid: Knew this guy in HS
Far2Paranoid: Built a box with 2x 350Mhz Pentium2, back in '98
Far2Paranoid: The trick was, filled his bathtub w/ glycerin
Far2Paranoid: Took apart a mini-fridge and used the coils to cool the glycerin to ~40F
Far2Paranoid: Then sunk the box so he could OC the CPUs to 1.3Ghz
Far2Paranoid: Coolest stuff I've ever seen.
AlbinoChpmnk: If this was sitting in his tub, how did he shower?
Far2Paranoid: After what I just said, what makes you think he showered?

yeah it would probably make a difference of 50-100 points using the same clocks between a 65nm and 45nm cpu. If that. It's not going to be a drastic difference.

About a 100 point difference would be normal between a E6850 and a E8400 at stock clocks, nothing too drastic (Source). Just to clarify, while the 9-series may scale well in SLi a 9600GT system still won't outperform an 8800GT system. The 9600GTs scale extremely well but I'd still rather have one card, even if it performs under an SLi system.
