Okay as promised here are some pictures of the ModMat on my workbench thumb.gif

I just had to order this, I built the workbench from some spare wood I had in the garage oh 5 or 6 years ago and when I saw the measurements of the ModMat and took a quick measurement of the top of the bench they were almost perfect. I couldn't have planned it better if I'd actually been trying, it's like I built the bench with the ModMat in mind biggrin.gif

Hey everyone, I added some more info to the plan section of the OP about some of the stuff I considered while researching this build.

Alright everyone a couple of updates:
First off I've made a few more changes to the parts lists in the OP, next I should be able to start ordering some parts in the next few days if all goes as I hope. The changes to the parts in OP are because I decided to get a new Graphics card and since the waterblock for the card will be the main thing you see in the window I wanted one with acrylic top on it. So then I decided to change up the CPU Block so that it will match the GPU block, so now they are both EX blocks with either acrylic or plexi. I've gone with an EVGA Geforce GTX 970 Superclocked 4GB graphics card, and I'll also be getting an EX backplate for it.
Let me know what you think

I've been pointed in the direction of some news released about memory issues on the GTX 970's, so I might once again need to rethink the graphics card thumbsdownsmileyanim.gif

Okay so I'll simply leave the decision on the graphics card till later, I have an old GTX 285 air cooled that will be more than enough for me to bench test out the motherboard etc.

Well this is what i posted in another build before and will stick to my Opinion as now you can see.

So yup ill stick with these 970's for now as even looking further again 980's are no good either for 4k. I dont want just 60 FPS

Again My Opinion and becoming real LOL biggrin.gif

Post from other build from me::

Lol This is solely and solely my opinion and i share this due to all the reading and testing and the information reviews out there and not one of them show any 980's been top notch for 4k i dont even think the 980's are even good enough for 4k..

If you are happy to sit around the 60 to 70 fps mark. Foreshore then go for it.

FOR me!! - i am not happy with that sort of result from a high end card. really look around they are not getting the performance results for 4k. I think the next GEN of cards will be there, they will have the new chip and 8gig ram buffers. We are way to early on 4k and its awesome that we are heading there. Thats my feeling on this but really guys look and read and see. So i have not spend money heavily on the high end 980's and will play around with my 970's with 2k monitors till at least the end of the year and then you will see some good stuff coming out. smile.gif

Im dying to get 4k but i know ill just throw money away on it right now so a wait will be cool i think and my 970's will take my build to there. So Soley my Opinion smile.gif

I'll just hold off for now and read up more etc. and get further along in the build before I make up my mind. Thanks for your opinion as it's all food for thought and I take a lot of stock in the opinions of almost everyone in here biggrin.gif

Well, it isn't the biggest part but the Samsung EVO SSD has been ordered biggrin.gif
Had an email from Newegg.com today and the exact SSD I wanted was on a daily special thumb.gif
It was marked down from $149.99 to $134.99 and then had a Promo Code for $15 off, so with Free Shipping I grabbed it for a whopping $119 biggrin.gif
