Hey guys,

Putting this compute for a friend, he wants as good as or better of a computer to mine on this budget.

Let me know what you think:
http://secure.newegg.com/WishList/Pu...Number=9235171

Will also need KB+Mouse+wires but I assume this isn't' included in the budget.

Thanks guys.

Hey,

I would go for an E5200 instead of that E8400 and use the extra money for a GTX260 or 4870. With some overclocking this will def. give you better gaming performance.

Theres a big difference between the E5200 and the E8xxx. E5200 is the same type of processor as the E2xxxx

I like the build. Though you probably could get a cheaper power supply for that system (not manufactereur just price) and get yourself a 4870 or GTX260, which would be much nicer.

That PSU is pretty good after the rebate. Is the GTX 260 or 4870 that much better?

True, but if it's mostly for games, the processor really isn't that important, so I would go ahead and spend the money on the graphics card.

Also, 700w is definitely overkill, but I guess it allows for an upgrade. On the whole it looks pretty good, though.

nooo.... CPU is really important. if you get a $100+ video card it will bottleneck. get an E8400.

...and monitor

List looks good although I might go with the E8400 for $164 with free shipping.

Also need a CD/DVD drive (combo/burner) and what about operating system?

Don't forget the retention bracket for that Xiggy.

After that - good to go

Ya, you will definately appreciate the upgrade in graphics card rather than your power supply.
