I have an Alienware M11x...
SU7300 overclocked to 1.73GHz
2GB DDR3 1333MHz Cas 9 ram
160gb 5400rpm drive (waiting on new ssd to change this POS...)
nVidia m335GT 1gb video card
an 1366x768 display

As for mouse/keyboard, wait a bit, don't rush your build man

Nice! I hear those m11xs are amazing.

What you mean by mouse and keyboard rush? Like the price would come down soon and it'll fill in the price gap?

Man, I'm so nervous on putting in so much for it. Like I'm only going to use it for this summer and the next, then a gpu/cpu upgrade. Guys think this is worth it?

It's as worth as you think it is, and this is why I'm saying you might want to not rush out for a MS/KB now since you're not yet sure about what you want

Buy the PC, enjoy it, I personally bought my 4870 last summer thinking it'll last me a couple of months, then I upgraded from a 1440x900 screen to my 1080p one and even today the card is running strong and I just can't motivate myself to upgrade it... so I think you will be good for quite a bit

And yes those M11x's are awesome, cheap, 8hrs battery and gaming friendly *cough* at work *cough*

Ah, I see what you mean. I think I have a keyboard that i'll really like. The ABS M1 that was suggested. Reminds me a lot of the old keyboards back in the day.

That's awesome. The 4870 is a really good card. This surely adds more assurance that 1440x900 should keep me fine for awhile. Cheers

Well apparently they get 30FPS on MW2 highest settings - it's not an intensive game though... I do hear they are good, however!

Same with battery life, it's meant to be pretty good

I've never really pushed it as much. But it's fun to have a laptop that is great in pretty much all the factors: light, long battery, quality built and it can even game with no problems!
I <3 my Alienware...

good to know. still that is pretty decent tho for frames for a net book considerate (even though I wouldn't really considered it one....) definitely going to start suggesting it to people.

before I used to always despise alienware or any dell/alienware prebuilds for the price/performance ratio. laptops seem to be a different story tho....but the mx11 sounds definitely niiice

Same here, I never liked pre-builds, my first computer was a custom made one (back in 1996) when my dad brought a lot of parts from work and we got something up and running.

Laptops is a different story, I try to get stock laptops and then upgrade certain parts (hard drives, ram, wifi/bluethooth/wimax) that you can actually upgrade...
